On the edge of a forest is a small tow, most the people in this town are traders and travelers just resting before carrying on to their destination. This town is a cross roads to the mining mountains to the north where a fierce storm and conflict is brewing. And the coastal ports to the south leading to the sea. There is way more soldiers in the town then normal presuming they are heading to the mountains to secure the mines. Around mid day a young women comes stumbling from the forest. She is wearing a dark robe covering her full body and face carrying a walking stick. She walks into the center of town for the local inn. She enters the end and finds a table far from everyone else orders some food and let out a sigh of relive as she sat down and ate.

A hooded figure quickly enters the inn and scrambles under a table. A few seconds later, a man bursts through the doors. He looks around frantically for a moment before he leaves as quickly as he entered. Once he is gone, a boy with pale skin, long ears, and black hair crawls out from under the table and strolls up to order some food.
ReplyDelete"Are you paying with money you just stole, urchin?"
"Oh no no no," he smiles. "I just don't think that man has a sense of humor."
When the hooded figure busted into the Inn and hide under the table,Kindra jumped in her seat thinking she wasn't able to escape from what ever was chasing her in the forest. After she saw that the hooded figure wasn't coming after her. After she finished her meal she takes the robe off her head to reveal her long deep purple braided hair , using some silver spikes to hold her hair in place. She also also has pale skin and small pointy with ear rings of the "Machine Lord", the ruler of a eleven kingdom on the other side of the forest to the east.
ReplyDeleteKinda can't help but stare at the hooded figure that came barging in with the other guy "looking" for him and wonder what his story was. He dose look like he knows his way around and might be able to help her so she got up from her table and sits down at his table and orders a round of drinks. "Hello"
As she gets closer, she notices he has small horns hidden by his messy hair and one of his eyes is dark purple and the other is light blue. He only looks up at her for a second before he goes back to eating his food. "What do you want?" he mumbles. "I didn't do anything wrong."
ReplyDeleteKindra replies to the man in front of her "I not here because for what you may or may not of done. I'm here because you look like some one that knows their way around and I need some one to help me disappear before.." She stops as she hears some horns and yelling outside. Just out side the town is five tall men on horses with golden armor with shields barring the mark of the Machine Lord. They began to yell" We are here for a Women named Kindra! Bring her to us and you'll be rewarded."
ReplyDeleteKindra turns back to the man sitting across here looking very worried "So you able to help me get out of here? You'll be reward." she looks desperate now.
"Hmmm. I could turn you in to them and get a reward but," he taps his chin thoughtfully. "I don't think I'd be able to make you cooperate with me." He shrugs. "Follow me then, and try to keep up."
ReplyDeleteHe stuffs a few more bites of food into his mouth and holds a piece of bread in his sharp teeth. He then bounds off toward the kitchen area, intending to quickly burst through and escape through that back entrance.
The kitchen staff yell and wave large spoons angrily, but they really can't do much else to stop the boy.
When the boy makes it to the kitchen entrance the five men outside bust in and look right at Kindra and Yell at her. She instantly gets up to chase after the boy with the men right behind her. When she get to the kitchen she waves her hand toward the men and tables and chairs go flying in all directions stunning the men.
ReplyDeleteShe catches up with the boy, " Thanks for this, where are we going?" The three silver spikes that were in Kindra's hair are now floating around her head as she starts running.
"Uh unno," he mumbles with the bread still in his mouth. He suddenly skids to a stop and turns sharply toward an area of thick bushes. It doesn't look like a good idea for a hiding place until he shoves a bough to the side with a wince, revealing a small hollow spot in the tangled roots. He motions with his head for her to go inside.
ReplyDeleteKindra looks where the figure is "pointing" at with his head She starts heading to the hollow spot as she is grabbing her hair spikes from around her head and putting them back into her hair.
ReplyDeleteShe remains as still as she can as the men chasing her walk out of the Inn and began to look around for where Kindra might of gone. As they approach her hiding spot she can't help but to think if that guy is going to turn her in or not.
The boy sits right in front of the bush and munches away at the bread. He looks up at the men curiously but says nothing and goes back to eating.
ReplyDeleteKindra waits until the men go on then she craws out of her hiding spot and sits by the man still eating his bread.
ReplyDelete"Thanks for the help, I am Kindra" she says why dusting off the dirt from her cloak. "I suppose you'll be wanting the reward I promised you now, However I do not have a lot on me to give. She reaches into a pocket and gets a small number of coins." After handing over the last of her coin Kindra just sits by the man catching her breath. Trying to decide what to do next.
He takes the coins and tucks them away while finishing off the last of the bread. "It's not like it was hard to hide you," he shrugs. "You just have to hide in the last place someone would look for you. That can sometimes be the most obvious place."
ReplyDeleteThe boy dusts the crumbs off his robe. "I'm Vincent by the way."
"Yea I suppose" Kindra shrugs. " I though I lost those men a week ago in the woods." The wood stretch for miles and takes an experienced group of people a month to navigate with out getting lost or killed by one of the many creatures that dwell inside. The only people that actually go into the woods now of days is Eleven kingdom to the east and the hidden Castle,In the heart of the forest, where the Machine Lord got his powers and where his most prized treasure resides and a company of his Elite Guard live.
ReplyDeleteKindra got up and finished dusting herself off and a book that is gilded and also bares the mark of the Machine Lord falls from her cloak. She quickly grabs it and places it back into a pocket of her cloak. "Well what is there to do around here?" searching around to make sure the men are truly are gone.
Vincent eyes the book curiously then looks up at Kindra. "Hmm nothing really. Not for someone like...you anyway."
ReplyDelete"What is that suppose to mean?" Kindra said snapping at Vincent?
ReplyDelete"Wow calm down," he mumbles, flattening his ears. "I just meant you don't look like a 'sneaky dirty little urchin' like I've been called."
ReplyDelete"But surely you must know something... You look like one of those types that can get around unnoticed and find out whats going on." Kindra said some what apologetic "If you haven't noticed I'm won't be able to get far with out someone spotting me and calling those guards, and I won't go back."
ReplyDelete"Well, where do you need to get to? Back into town for something? Or somewhere else?"
ReplyDelete"I need to get to the mountains and meet a friend of my fathers" Kindra said.
ReplyDeleteConflict from the mountains have gotten back as ten more Elven Soldiers showed up from the south east. These soilders don't look like the ones before, they look to be wearing worn out armor except for the one leading the group his armor looks fresh. They get to the edge of town and the leader screams out " This town is now in the Machine Lord's domain. As such you will summit to our will or suffer."
The town militia gathered around the Elfs and just have a stare down as civilians are running from the soldiers
Kindra looks to Vincent "We got to go now Now"
"Agreed," he mumbles, watching the scene before him. Vincent shakes his head then looks out at the woods behind them. "There's only one way to go then. Maybe we can skirt around and find a path or road."
ReplyDelete"Lead the way" she said as starting to sprint into the woods behind them.
ReplyDeleteAs they entered the forest a rain of arrows showered the gate and the area surrounding it as more elven soldiers appeared over the horizon
"This is worse then I thought" She said to her self as she made sure her cloak was securely on.
"What the hell did you do!?" Vincent growls, shoving aside branches as he runs. "I'm not going to be wanted by association am I?!"
ReplyDelete"I did nothing, I'm just trying to reach my father's friend before this gets any worse, he might be able to help." she said trying to avoid the question.
ReplyDelete"Oh okay," he says sarcastically. "I look like a human kid, but I'm not. I'm not an ignorant child." He effortlessly reaches for a tree branch and flips up into the leaves. "I should just leave you here. I'm not being hunted by a bunch of crazies. Just that one guy maybe but that's not important. Hell, they said they had a reward if you were turned in."
ReplyDelete"I....I" she looks around to make sure no one else is around , " I need your help the Machine lord has gone mad and is hell bent to take over the region. My fathers oldest friend should know how to stop him before it's to late and the Machine lord unleashes his new weapons onto the world."
